Music has always been important in the worshipping life of St Mary’s. Our sung worship has an informal and contemporary feel, led entirely by a worship band made up of a team of gifted musicians and singers.

We believe that music enables us to be looking up in worship to God, fixing our focus on him and leading us to a place of intimate encounter. We also strive to ensure that our sung worship connects with the congregation in a way that enables them to participate fully – whether that is singing recently written worship songs or familiar, older hymns. This is especially important as we increasingly become a church that is reaching out to those around us, as we seek to make worship accessible to all who come.

If you’d like to find out more about joining our Worship Team, either as a singer, musician or on the technical side (computers and sound), then speak to Joan Meneely or Nick Crawford.
