St Mary’s works in partnership with Dundonald Methodist Church to respond to needs in the local community through Dundonald Family & Community Initiative (DFCI). This independent community association was established by the local Methodist Church in 2003 and seeks to address issues of poverty and disadvantage from a Gospel perspective.

This outreach includes a partnership with Belfast City Vineyard in a programme called Storehouse which seeks to serve the needs of those people who struggle to afford food for themselves and their families.

Whilst Storehouse generally operates on a referral basis, if you or someone you know is facing this kind of hardship, then please don’t hesitate to contact the Church Office.

This year we are becoming a partner church with Christians Against Poverty with the launch of the CAP Money course in February 2010. CAP partners with local churches across the UK to deliver top quality debt counselling services, which not only provide a sustainable solution to poverty but also transform lives, both practically and spiritually. CAP believes that the local church should be at the heart of God’s work. In practice this means that while CAP gives a professional debt counselling tool, the church has the amazing opportunity to express God's love - meeting people's practical needs by helping them with their debts, and also providing the support, care and welcome that is needed to lead those interested into a full, God-centred life.
